PARIS
Girdner's photos of postwar Paris abound with the exuberance of a young American liberated from the bonds of fighting a war as the city around him bounces back from German occupation. This was a prolific period for the artist, whose subjects ranged from his Bohemian friends to the great Paris wholesale food market, Les Halles, to iconic Paris monuments such as the Tour Eiffel and Arc de Triomphe.
